The Atlas Weathering
Services Group (AWSG) is a global network of materials
durability testing laboratories serving some 2,000
clients in over 40 countries. With 16 test sites around
the world, each providing a wide range of climate and
environmental
conditions. For over 80 years AWSG is the world leader
in material testing.
DSET Laboratories, Inc., a division of the AWSG,
pioneered accelerated outdoor weathering in the 1960’s
with the EMMAQUA (Equatorial Mount with Mirrors for
Acceleration
with
Water) Test Method. www.atlaswsg.com
EMMAQUA test method employs 10 high quality mirrors
that uniformly focus sunlight on the test sample. The
mirrors provide intensity
equal to eight suns. The apparatus tracks the movement
of the sun and exposes specimens to the full spectrum
of sunlight,
making it one of the most realistic accelerated tests
available.
Solar Industries is the only collector to survive a grueling
23 year life expectancy test in the Arizona desert. DSET Exposure
Test, New River, Arizona. Projected life of the collector 25-30
years.
